MY SECOND HOME TOWN
The editor of PEACE asked me to give them an article, and it's
now just before the dead line, I have no other ideas to write about.
So I'm gonna
write about Hawaii I've just visited with my friend last month.
It's
a special place for me because I used to live in Hawaii, and I'm thinking
having a guesthouse and get a quiet and easy life there someday.
It's my dream. Oh, I remember the smell of Hawaii when I got to the
airport! I love the atmosphere. "There're too many Japanese
there!" "Everything
is so expensive!" some people complain about Hawaii. Well, there
sure are so many Japanese in the peak-season, and you may realize
some of them are really bad-mannered. Sometimes I get tired of them.
That's
true. And the prices there are kind of high, but you can find some
good and cheap shops if you walk around and look for them. We went
record
shop-hopping, and found some cheap used-record shops. You can get
rare records for $3-$4 each there. When we visited one of them and
got some,
they gave us 2 more records for free! WHY? Never happened in Japan.
My friend S screamed "Majide!?" (means "Are you sure!?")
to them in Japanese.
You're also able to get cheap tickets and hotels
if you search well enough, so I think it costs only 10 Man to stay
there for one week include everything. Good meals and drinks, and
the weather!
Japanese call the weather in Hawaii "TOKO-NATSU" (means
everlasting summer), but there are 4 seasons of course. You can
swim in winter,
there but it's a bit cold, and in summer the sunlight is excessively
strong.
Last time we stayed at a hotel. It was the first time for
me to stay at a hotel in Hawaii, and also the first time to go
there
with a
friend who doesn't surf. It was OK. I've surfed everyday, but my
friend S was
just drunk and slept all day! He announced he would do nothing
before the trip, and he did nothing! (S had been extreamly busy
before the
trip so I understand:from the editor)
But yeah, a jacuzzi at the
hotel was one of the best things about our trip. A jacuzzi and beer!
Nothing more to ask for, right?
In the daytime, we talked about which
club to go to at night, but everyday after the jacuzzi, we just ate
and got drunk, made splifs,
got stoned
and were dead in our beds. We just went to the hotel's bar
at midnight at the best, never got to any clubs after all. In my opinion
this
is the ultimate vacation. It was a recreation. Everything moves
slowly, the people are easy, there is an amazing blue sky and
ocean, a shower
in the evening that cools down the heat of the daytime, a beautiful
sunset... Everything is just a luxury.
And I enjoyed that clerks
asked
me "Hey,
are you Hawaian?" so many times when we went shopping.
I felt good.
I recommend that all of you to visit Hawaii. It's
a really good place! And before you go there, make a visit
to kaiko's.
Then
you may get
some worthwile information about Hawaii...
